Without a doubt, it's the Original Series F-14 Tomcat.  We know we know, it's an old airplane.  We know video's have been done to death with the Top Gun theme blazing away. The skull and cross bones, yea, seen a few of those too. But just like that T-shirt you have from high school, you never get tired of slipping it on and indulging in some F-14 goodness.

The F-14 has the most unique feature out there, swing wings.  Cool factor unmatched.  And we should mention that we have a bunch of great decals for download for the F-14.  It makes it possible for the builder out there to pull that sucker out of the car and get a bunch of guys gathered around quick.  So check out the video, pictures, and decals and pick up a kit.  After all, it's our best seller.

Part of that means we have to anticipate our inventory, track sales, blah, blah, blah.  This year, like years past, we have managed to stay one up on the holiday rush and have been getting out orders pretty quickly.  Which is no small feat for a small operation.

What we are saying is that we can only do so much.  

So consider yourself warned.  If you want to get your kit before December 25th, we highly recommend ordering before December 16th.  

That gives us an extra day or two in case we are back ordered and the post office a few extra days to get the kit you ordered for your wife (with your name on it) to your front door.

If you haven't figured it out by now, we are shamelessly plugging our own catalog for the holiday season.  Drop a subtle hint and bring over your significant other and point to the glowing computer screen.  You can say "Look honey, how easy is this?  You order online and they ship it to our house?"  And she'll say back "I love you so much for thinking of me and my struggles every year to figure out what to get you, bookmark the page and pick out what you might like.  I can't believe how much I love you."  

Trust us, that's how it works.  No long lines, no stampedes and crazy elbows getting thrown around to pick up that nearly free crappy electronic gadget.

We just finished up adding in most of our Quick Builds Plans to the "Instruction" section of our site.  Now you can go and download directly the full PDF plans for most our Quick Builds, allowing you to download and build your own.  Some models also have artwork, cockpit details, and full decal sets.  We are slowly (we mean slowly) adding to the decal section for the Quick Builds.  

We get this question all the time, "How much to download the plans?"  The answer is always the same. We believe plans should be free, and so if you have a computer connection, download away (just don't sell them or claim they are your own).  It's that easy (now that we got around to posting them).

Then yesterday we got a great email complete with pictures from a customer down under that has built several of our kits plus he has also built several from scratch.  And we love it.  

He's looking for decals, and we are working on it.  But we couldn't resist posting some of his pictures right here for your weary eyes. 

]]>NEW MOTOR IN STOCKhttp://www.6mmflyrc.com/flyblog/2009/9/4/new-motor-in-stock.html6mmFlyRC2009-09-05T05:17:06ZWe have added the Grayson Hobby MicroJet Combo to our Power Gear catalog.  This set up is LIGHT people.  It's a nice addition to any of our Quick Builds, and makes for a great "Park Jet" set up.  The plane stays light, around 12 ounces and floats like a leaf, but still has 1 - 1 power that will let you go straight up like a rocket. 

It comes with the ESC, motor, connectors, mount, etc, all the stuff you expect from Grayson's excellent combos.  You still use the standard 6 x 4 APC prop, so you should be all set.  What is really great is that you can save a few bucks on the combo (its only $35) with a smaller battery (1100mAh) so your whole power setup is very budget friendly. 

If you want a real rocket for your Quick Build, we say go with the Park Jet motor.  Its still pretty light, but it will haul the mail on your model.  So now, you have a bit more of a choice.  Enjoy. 

]]>WHO ARE WE?http://www.6mmflyrc.com/flyblog/2009/8/28/who-are-we.html6mmFlyRC2009-08-29T02:08:34ZFor those of you that have been around a while, it seems like we are pretty new to the scene, but heck, it is creeping up on our 4 year anniversary and we realized that the entire business has been built on word of mouth.  Pretty amazing.  No doubt what they say, but our customers are our best marketing tool we have.  But just in case, we just had this video produced by TVKevin, (who did awesome work btw) and we figured it was good to get it out there.  So here it is, all 1:20 sec about who we are, and what we do.  Of course, you probably already know everything we talk about. 

What you don't see or hear is that our company is made up of a lot more than just us.  Our designs come from the minds of Steve Shumate, Tomas Hellberg, Nick Cara, Brent Hecht among others,  our decals come from Jason Edgar, our pictures and videos come directly from you, and most of all, our new customers almost exclusively come because our old customers have built up our kits and shown them off at the field.
